This website provides the most impressionable outdoor activities and locations in Orange County. The activities and locations were chosen arbitrarily using no particular criteria. Several selections are in OC Parks and are either free to do or can be done at an affordable cost. Another sizeable number of selections are in State Parks with the remaining being in city maintained parks or in privately owned spaces.
Reasons for this site:
- Orange County has several flat areas which is good for developing land although has left little to no open space in those areas. This is truest for the county's north and central regions. This app identifies the nature still left where terrain was more hilly or rocky and was unsuitable for development.
- Moreover, being that Orange County is very densely populated as it is the 6th most populated county in the country, this app serves to inform. Many may be unaware of the county's nature activities and nature spaces since they are usually not located near developed areas or are overshadowed by the developed areas that surround them.
- Lastly, since most open space in Orange County is on the outskirts of the county or only in specific pockets, it can be a challenge to driving there. This app helps by providing address locations and any other details needed to help navigate your way to a specific nature activity or space.
